Lakewood Country Club, a premier Distinguished Emerald Club of the World, is hiring for a Host.  Opened in 1959, our beautiful Reese Jones 18-Hole Golf Course, newly remolded Clubhouse, and Pool & Tennis facilities are just minutes away from I-270, restaurants, and a Metro Bus Stop.  We are looking for friendly, dedicated, and reliable individuals like yourselves to join our Lakewood Family Team.


The Host is responsible for ensuring that all Members and guests have the highest quality food and beverage experience possible by providing exceptional host skills to include; courteous telephone skills, proper handling of reservations, greeting guests, seating guests, monitoring the flow/pace of the dining room, offering support to servers and attendants and acknowledging departing guests with a kind remark. You are also responsible for taking care of future reservations and maintaining the wait list and other duties as assigned. The Host must be passionate about guest service and hospitality.


  • Greet and seat all members and their guests with a warm and friendly attitude.
  • Assign Members and guests to tables.
  • Take to go orders and drink orders when needed.
  • Be familiar with reservations (speak with front desk receptionist or manager).
  • Check the front binder/weekly schedule for any events scheduled that day.
  • Stock activity books, crayons, and lollipops before the shift.
  • Dim lights at 5 pm to appropriate levels.
  • Create server sections then relay to servers with manager's approval.
  • Communicate with servers at all times.
  • Rectify any complaints immediately by following company complaint handling process, notifies manager on duty immediately.
  • Assists with coatroom and works closely with Coat Checker.
  • Speak to guests to make sure services were satisfactory and invite members and guests back again.
  • Performs shift duties in accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of scheduled daily activities and in-house groups, daily house count, hours of operation, ambiance, menu selections, price ranges, features, and services provided by the restaurant.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, proper table set-ups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range, and dress code of the restaurant.
  • Responsible for Host station maintaining necessary supplies and cleanliness at all time.
  • Inspect condition, accuracy, and cleanliness of all menus for the given shift, and print menus as directed.
  • Inspect the restaurant environment, entrance area, ensuring that all standards are met; rectify any deficiencies.
  • Perform other duties as directed by your supervisor or manager.


  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Must be available to work all shifts, including, but not limited to: weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Positive, upbeat, outgoing personality, energetic and demonstrate enthusiasm and professionalism.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with Members, guests, staff, and management. 


  • Minimum 1 year of customer service. Hosting skills for Country Club preferred.
  • Relevant experience in high quality, high volume operation preferred.
  • Preferred T.I.P.S. Certified


  • Handle objects, reach with arms and hands, stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 15 pounds without assistance.
  • Pull, bend, stoop, and perform upward reaching for an extended period of time.
  • Able to be exposed to outside weather conditions.
